The Provincial Indigenous Energy Efficiency Retrofit (PIEER) program provides government funding to help Indigenous communities upgrade windows, doors, and other energy systems. Eligible homes can access significant rebates to improve comfort and reduce energy costs.
We handle everything. Baker Brothers and Centra manage the entire PIEER registration process and work directly with your Band's housing authority. One meeting (less than one hour) and we take care of the rest. Minimal paperwork. No government delays.
Just fast, friction-free installations that make your community more comfortable.
What is PIEER?
Why Triple-Pane
Low-E Windows?
To qualify for maximum PIEER rebates, windows must meet strict energy efficiency standards. The program requires a U-factor of 1.22 or less — and Centra's triple-pane Low-E windows exceed these requirements.
What Does PIEER Cover?
PIEER provides rebates of up to $950 per window or door for products that meet energy efficiency requirements (U-factor ≤1.22). Maximum rebate per home: $9,500 for windows and doors.

Common Questions About PIEER Window Funding
Q: How much does this cost our Band or community members?
A: PIEER provides up to $950 per window/door, with a maximum of $9,500 per home. For typical window replacements projects, this covers 60-100% of the cost. We provide clear pricing upfront so you know exactly what to expect.
Q: Why do windows need to meet a specific U-factor?
A: PIEER requires windows with U-factor ≤1.22 to ensure meaningful energy savings. This standard typically requires triple pane windows with Low-E coating — exactly what Centra provides. Lower U-factor means less heat loss, which means real savings for your community.
Q: What's required from our housing authority?
A: Less than one hour for the initial meeting. After that, Baker Brothers handles all applications, paperwork, and government coordination. We minimize the administrative burden on your team.
Q: How long does the entire process take?
A: PIEER approval typically takes about 2 weeks after we submit the application. Once approved, Centra coordinates directly with your housing department to schedule installations. The total timeline from initial meeting to completed work depends on community size and scheduling, but most projects complete within 8-12 weeks.
Q: Do homeowners need to be present during installation?
A: Yes, someone needs to be home during window measurement and installation days. We coordinate scheduling directly with your housing authority and residents to find convenient times.
Q: What happens if windows need service after installation?
A: All Centra windows come with an industry-leading 30-year warranty. Centra provides ongoing support and service — they're here for your community long after installation is complete.
Q: Can we combine window upgrades with other PIEER improvements?
A: Absolutely! PIEER covers windows, heat pumps, insulation, and hot water systems. Baker Brothers coordinates with both Centra (windows/doors) and Greenfoot Energy Solutions (HVAC/insulation) to maximize your funding. Completing multiple upgrade types may qualify for additional bonuses.
